Every electoral district association will nominate and select, within one year of a federal election, their candidate for the following election. If a candidate is not selected, the Part may recommend or install a candidate.

This will help EDAs fundraise, allow candidates without an incumbent MP to make inroads in the community with he candidate to better prepare for the next federal election, especially with the uncertainty of minority governments.
